Ms. Maria Grace Nankya – Founder & Lead Trainer
Maria is a data and results-driven Certified Personal Trainer and Corrective Exercise Specialist with 5 years of experience in personal training.
Following her own personal weight loss transformation journey – going from 101kgs to 65kgs, and maintaining it over the years, Maria fell in love with the physical and mental strength fitness provides. She found fitness as a powerful means to release, discover, and ignite strength from within. She has made it her life mission to empower generations to thrive in fitness and health.
Since 2020, she has had the honor of collaborating with over 350 clients with various goals including fat loss, muscle gain, improved general health and performance across the globe. With a mastery in approaches, tools, and techniques for developing holistic personalized fitness programs, complimented with offering nutritional guidance, Maria creates transformative fitness experiences intended to improve cardiovascular endurance, flexibility, balance, mobility, body composition, muscular strength and endurance. Her training style is characterized by high energy, full accountability, diligence, and form-focus.
Qualifications
Maria is a Certified Personal Trainer and Corrective Exercise Specialist from the International Sports Sciences Association (ISSA). She holds a Master’s of Business Administration majoring in Strategic Management from the United States International University of Africa, Kenya, a Post Graduate Diploma in Monitoring and Evaluation from Uganda Management Institute, and a Bachelors in Procurement and Logistics Management from Kyambogo University, Uganda. She holds certification as a Growth, Life, and Leadership Coach from Lifeforming Leadership Coaching (LLC), Virginia, USA in partnership with Strategy Cell Ministry International, Kenya.
Dr. Bunyata Gift Samuel – Physician
Dr. Bunyata Gift Samuel is a seasoned medical professional, general medical practitioner with over 5 years of working experience in general human medicine. As a qualified Physician, Gift provides technical medical support and advice to the growth and development of medically integrated fitness into P3.8 to ensure positive health outcomes. Working closely with P3.8 Fitness coaches, he takes lead in health and fitness risk assessments for P3.8 clientele to ensure healthy and safety precautions and standards. He provides technical backstopping in medically integrated fitness content creation to promote learning including, emerging trends from medicine, and how such relate to the fitness industry. He contributes to the creation of evidence-based fitness programs and solutions that have already been validated and proven to work for effective injury, risk identification and disease prevention, health and wellness management.
He builds capacity including mentorship for P3.8 on design and implementation of relevant systems to effectively capture and analyze client fitness health related data, how to effectively communicate such in a customer friendly manner, and how to subsequently integrate it into personalized fitness programs.Working with both private and public hospitals, his experience includes diagnosis and treatment.
He is currently pursuing his Masters of Medicine of Pathology at Makerere University. Gift holds a Bachelors of Medicine, and a Bachelors of Surgery from Makerere University.
Besides being a fitness enthusiast, he has a keen interest in promoting the role of fitness in combating the rising prevalence of obesity and overweight in Uganda. He believes fitness is a fundamental part of everyone’s sense of wellbeing, predominantly, the physical and mental state, and that it’s pivotal to improving the quality of social relationships. From his personal experience, fitness can be used as a tool for engraining and nurturing values of resilience and self-discipline while catapulting one’s sense of wholesome freedom.
Dr. Peter Muwanguzi – Orthopeadic Specialist
Dr. Muwanguzi is a qualified medical practitioner with over ten (10) years of practicing experience, four (4) of which are as an Orthopeadic Surgeon. He has experience in diagnosing musculoskeletal risks/injuries and diseases, identification of treatment options, treatment, performing orthopeadic surgeries, overseeing aftercare and physical therapy, and coordination with other specialists, when necessary. He provides technical support and advice to P3.8 on Musculoskeletal (MSK) system health. His role ensures integration and adaption of lifestyle interventions directed towards optimizing and improving MSK health within the P3.8 strategy and programs. Working closely with P3.8 coaches, he takes lead in MSK health risk and disorders assessments, technical input in content creation to promote learning including emerging trends in Orthopeadic medicine , and how such relate to the fitness industry.
He builds P3.8 capacity on better understanding of healthy musculoskeletal ageing and the relevant MSK disorders and risk factors. This feeds into development of better-targeted therapies for common musculoskeletal disorders. He supports P3.8 on design and implementation of relevant systems to effectively capture and analyze client fitness MSK health related data, how to effectively communicate such in a customer friendly manner, and how to subsequently integrate it into personalized fitness programs.
He believes that physical exercise plays an important role in management and
prevention of various orthopedic diseases and conditions including; traumatic injuries such as ligament sprain, muscle strain and fractures, undergoing treatment by surgical or nonsurgical methods, back and neck pain from poor posture, osteoarthritis and other rheumatic diseases. According to Dr. Muwanguzi, exercise is vital for building strong bones, especially during our younger years, and essential for maintaining bone strength, prevention of falls, fractures and improvement of coordination and stability in
our elderly years.
He is passionate about addressing musculoskeletal injuries with a focus on trauma, infections, spine conditions, degenerative spine diseases, musculoskeletal pain management and sports injuries.
He holds a Masters of Medicine in Orthopeadic Surgery from Makerere University, a Bachelor of Medicine and a Bachelor of Surgery (MBCHB) from Makerere University, Uganda.
Peter is a fitness enthusiast with a keen interest in promoting the role of fitness in combating the rising prevalence of obesity and overweight in Uganda. This is partly inspired and exuded from his own personal weight loss transformation experience, where he dropped over 20kgs through both diet and exercise regimens that he maintains to date.
Mr. Maurice Odera – Technical Advisor
Maurice plays a business and technical mentorship and advisory role to the overall P3.8 growth strategy. He is the proprietor of Ultra Fitness Gym in Nairobi, Kenya which mentors, trains and coaches renowned professional athletes and fighters including those that compete at regional and global levels, winning and holding internationally recognized accolades and championships.
Maurice is a seasoned Weight Loss, Level 1 Strength and Conditioning, and Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) Coach with over nine (9) years of professional experience in the fitness industry in Africa and Asia. He is the World Boxing Council (WBC) MuayThai Representative for Kenya and has solid plans to promote Combat Sports including MuayThai, Mixed Martial Arts and Boxing in the greater East Africa Region.
Ms. Jauharah Nabaggala- Fitness and Wellness Intern
Jauharah is a professional female footballer with over fifteen (15) years of athleticism experience in football in Uganda, South Sudan, Tanzania, Kenya and Algeria. She started her athleticism career at the age of 7, and has trained with local academies in Uganda. She plays for local, national and international premier leagues. She has played as a Midfielder on the South Sudan National Team and currently plays the same position on the Lady Cardinals Team in Mukono, Uganda. She has been recognized for several scholarships, honors and awards as a Most Vulnerable player (MVP) in local and national tournaments. She has previously conducted personal fitness coaching for women and men in her community.
She brings on board athleticism experience and knowledge in strength, agility, endurance and speed.
As a professional female football athlete, Jauharah is passionate about fitness and wellness, and has keen interest in mentoring children and other women in the sport. She believes there is a strong positive correlation between fitness, wellness and sports, and is very passionate about using her experience to empower people to live happier and healthier lifestyles through fitness.
Jauharah holds a Diploma in Business Administration and Bachelors in Business Administration in Management from Uganda Christian University (UCU), Mukono, Uganda.
