Our Story

P3.8 Fitness Hub (P3.8) is an African fitness brand inspired by Proverbs 3:8 (New International Version) “This will bring health to your body and nourishment to your bones.” P3.8 was established to respond to the growing and daunting prevalence of obesity and overweight among men, women and children in Africa. Obesity and overweight ultimately impact the human being as a whole including: physical/body, mind/mental and soul/spiritual well-being.

P3.8 aspires to become a world-class health and wellness centre/and hub that plays a national and regional role in improving the overall health and wellness of its clientele. This ultimately contributes to the greater blueprint to achieve a better and more sustainable future for all by 2030 as set by the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA), particularly, SDG3: Good health and well-being; creating action to promote health and well-being for all. The P3.8 model directly contributes to target 3.4: Reduce Mortality from Non-Communicable Diseases (NCDs) and Promote Mental Health.

In tandem with this ambition, P3.8 seeks to become a referral knowledge hub with credible capacity and capability including expertise, evidence (data), tools, resources, state of the art technology, equipment and infrastructure for key stakeholders including policy makers, clients, health and wellness service providers, researchers among others, to recognize, diagnose and respond to contemporary issues related to health and wellness.

Our Story

Having struggled with obesity for almost a decade, in 2015, Maria embarked on a journey she had no clue would forever change her life. She went through a 360 weight loss and transformation that not only impacted her body but mind and soul as well. Out of this personal and highlighted as one of her biggest life struggles, yet most fulfilling conquests (she shared her story here ), P3.8 was inspired and born.

As a weight loss warrior, drawing from this incredible life transformation, with support from her fitness and business coach; Mr. Odera Maurice, the Proprietor of Ultra Fitness Gym in Nairobi, Kenya, Maria made a career detour to follow this passion, becoming a full time Fitness Coach. She relocated from Kenya back to Uganda in October, 2020 and has since started P3.8 Fitness Hub. P3.8 started off as a door to door mobile home gym. It later morphed into an outdoor group gym program. In February 2021, P3.8 established and opened its very first stationary gym which currently serves as its headquarters. Since inception, P3.8 has cumulatively transformed over 2000 people physically, while impacting over 20,000 virtually – motivating, inspiring and empowering them to take charge of their wellness.
